Employers will be exempted from reporting workplace accidents

From the beginning of next year, employers will be exempted from the obligation to fill in the "AM Occupational Accidents" questionnaire. This eliminates double reporting of incidents involving the temporary disability of an employee.

The acts on their investigation, which have been filled out so far by the employer and the State Labor Inspectorate (GIT), will be combined into one form. The document drawn up by the GIT will be abolished. The amendments are included in the Regulation on the Procedure for the Investigation of Industrial Accidents and have been published.

The amendments will come into force on January 1, 2027

This year, enterprises are given a transitional period to prepare for the innovations due to their complexity and duration.

According to the document, the State Labor Inspectorate will collect and code data on industrial accidents and submit them to the National Bureau of Statistics. The list of codes will be in line with the Eurostat methodology and is also included in the regulation.

The regulation has been supplemented with new concepts, as well as with the description of the procedure of collection, storage and coding of variable data on occupational accidents by the inspectorate. The mandatory actions of the employer in the event of an accident, the procedure for investigating its circumstances and causes, etc. are prescribed.

New rules for data storage

In addition, the regulations will include norms concerning not only the registration and recording of accidents, but also the rules for storing coded data on them. A form and a list of codes for its completion will be approved.

The form will contain general variables (data on the victim, the company and the place of the accident) and variables related to the causes and circumstances of the accident.

Implementation of the new rules will require the development of internal regulations by the State Labor Inspectorate to ensure all processes are in place, as well as training for inspectors.
