Customs officers completed training courses on interpreting scanner images

From June 16 to 18, Customs Service employees participated in training to develop the professional competencies and practical skills necessary for the effective use of specialized technical screening equipment, image interpretation, and the implementation of radiation protection measures. To this end, a training course titled “Analysis and Interpretation of Images Obtained Using X-ray Scanning Systems” was organized.

Two instructors from the State Customs Service of Ukraine participated in the training sessions, sharing their experience and best practices regarding the use of modern scanning systems in customs operations with the participants.

During the course, participants explored topics such as the principles of X-ray scanning systems, the use of cargo scanners, radiation protection measures, methods for analyzing and interpreting images, and techniques for concealing prohibited goods.

The event was organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) as part of the project “Strengthening Sustainable and Digital Trade Routes and Logistics Concepts between the Eastern Partnership Countries and the European Union,” which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
