The commemorative coin is dedicated to Eleonora Romanescu (1926-2019), a famous artist and a prominent figure of the Bessarabian art movement, who left an indelible mark in the history of art in the Republic of Moldova. Her work, closely linked to Moldovan traditions and landscapes, continues to inspire generations of artists and art connoisseurs. Eleonora Romanescu, nicknamed “The Great Lady of the Romanian easel”, with her landscapes is a real business card of Moldova, a map of the Bessarabian soul. For her contribution, she has been honored with numerous awards and titles, including the “Order of the Republic”.

Each copy of the commemorative coin is packaged in a transparent capsule made of methacrylate and a gift box, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Mrs. Anca Dragu.

The certificate contains a QR code that allows direct access to the detailed information on the characteristics of the coin, placed at the official website of the institution.

The commemorative coin is made of silver, has a nominal value of 50 lei and is issued in an edition of 500 copies. The graphic design was elaborated by Giorgeta Vrabie.
