This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

According to the publication, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce has banned the sale of goods that could be used for military purposes to these entities. Beijing explained the need for such measures as a desire to protect national security.

The list of U.S. companies subject to China’s restrictions includes rare-earth metal producers MP Materials and USA Rare Earth, both of which are supported by Washington. In addition, the list includes Aveox, Red Cat Holdings, Teal Drones, IMSAR, Jaia Robotics, Ball Aerospace & Technologies, Oshkosh Defense, and L3Harris Maritime Services.

From January through May 2026, trade between the U.S. and China fell by 3.5%. Exports of Chinese goods decreased by 2.7%, while shipments from the U.S. fell by 5.5%. Meanwhile, China’s trade with Europe grew by 13.9% year-over-year.
