The Apple Market in Moldova: Abundant Supplies of High-Quality Fruit

As of the end of June this year, approximately 10,000 metric tons of apples from the 2025 harvest remain in the cold storage facilities of Moldovan fruit-growing and trading companies.

Vitalie Gorincioi, chairman of the “Moldova Fruct” Association, shared this assessment with the Moldovan media. He noted that a significant portion of the remaining inventory consists of high-quality products that are in good condition.

Yurie Fală, executive director of “Moldova Fruct,” clarified in a comment to Logos Press that some companies still have large quantities—hundreds and even thousands of metric tons—of last year’s apples. According to him, this has not been an uncommon occurrence over the past few seasons. However, the high quality allows apples from the previous year’s harvest to be sold on the “fresh market” throughout July.
