The government will help manufacturers doing business with Russia and Belarus find alternative markets

Domestic producers who continue to export goods to Russia and Belarus need to be helped in finding new sales markets in light of the risks associated with the possible closure of these directions. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu.

According to the minister, Moldova has joined most of the international sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus. Nevertheless, trade relations with these two countries still remain to some extent.

“Overall, about 6% of trade is accounted for by these two states. However, there are international agreements that our producers use, so we must take an additional step to protect their interests and redirect them to new markets in case the Russian Federation and Belarus markets are closed,” Osmochescu said during debates at IPN.

The official noted that the process of adapting and diversifying exports is complex and involves measures that are not always visible to the general public.

“This is much more than what we see on the surface in terms of our work to support entrepreneurs,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
