About this writes Turkish news agency Anadolu. The publication refers to the IAEA statement published on the page in the social network X.

It is noted that the power plant was again deprived of external power, but the emergency diesel generators were started and ensured the operation of the facility for about one hour.

The statement also quotes IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who emphasized that the cause of the outage is still unknown, but the incident again demonstrates the continuing risks to nuclear safety.

The Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Russian forces took control of it in March 2022.

Since then, the area around the plant has been subjected to repeated shelling and fighting.
