
The discussion took place within the round table “The Road to the EU: Dialogue for a Prepared Economy”, organized by GLIA Impact Hub. The participants discussed the competitiveness of SMEs, access of Moldovan companies to the EU market and Romania’s experience in the process of European integration.
The discussion was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, Entrepreneurship Development Organization, European Business Association (EBA), Expert-Grup and IPRE.
Experts urged to prepare in advance for the EU rules
Representatives of the Romanian side emphasized the importance of early preparation of public institutions and businesses for the conditions of work in the EU, including the ability to master European funds and adapt to the requirements of the single market.
The participants also emphasized the need for closer cooperation between the state, business and civil society to increase the competitiveness of Moldovan companies and to prepare for new regulatory standards.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization said that the process of Moldova’s gradual integration into the single European market is already bringing economic effects and should increase the country’s investment attractiveness.
The organizers of the event noted that the discussion took place within the EUReady project, dedicated to supporting Moldovan SMEs in the process of economic integration with the European Union.
