Data show that Moldovan draft wine exports have almost tripled in the last 24 years. If in 2000 Moldova exported about 27.4 million liters, the volume will reach 72.6 million liters in 2024, writes forbes.ro.

During the same period, the value of exports increased from $10.2 million to $48.5 million. At the same time, the average price of Moldovan wine exported on draught rose from $0.37 to $0.67 per liter, indicating an increase in both the volume of supplies and the value of exported products.

According to the analyzed data, Moldova surpassed such countries as Romania, Germany, Austria and Greece in terms of export volume.

The report also highlights changes in the strategies of the world’s main wine exporters. Spain became the world leader, exporting more than 1.07 billion liters, but the average price per liter decreased from $1.02 to $0.52.

Italy, the former market leader, chose a different strategy. The volume of Italian exports decreased by almost 60%, but the average price of exported wine increased from $0.37 to $0.89 per liter.

Moldova’s development shows that it is expanding its presence on the international wine on draught market in a context where European exporters are using different growth and commercial positioning models.
