According to Vershinin, the PAS deputy publicly stated that the latter “tried to sell gas through Ilan Shor and cheat everyone,” without providing any evidence, documents or other proof of his accusations.
Vershinin believes that such statements go beyond political polemics. According to him, parliamentary immunity “is not an authorization to spread false information”.
The MP emphasized that, according to the law, the refutation of defamatory information must be published within 15 days after consideration of the preliminary statement.
“In the absence of a voluntary refutation, I will use all legal and parliamentary mechanisms to protect my honor, dignity and business reputation, including appealing to the competent bodies of Parliament in connection with a possible violation of parliamentary ethics,” Vershinin said.
If Radu Marian intends to continue insisting on his words, Vershinin demands to provide all the evidence on which the accusations are based, including documents, contracts, correspondence, records or other official materials.
At the time of publication, Radu Marian had not commented on Vershinin’s statements.
