“I am in Venice, where Moldova is officially participating for the first time, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the largest and most significant event in the field of contemporary art – the International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia. This is a special moment of pride for our country and an opportunity to present Moldovan artists and our art to the world audience,” the minister said.

Moldova is represented by the project “On the Thousand and Second Night” (“On the Thousand and Second Night”), created by Pavel Brăila and curated by Adelina Luft. The work addresses the themes of peace, memory, technology and human solidarity.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from May 7 to November 26, 2026. The pavilion of the Republic of Moldova is located in the Special Exhibition Space of Santa Venanda”, Church of Saints Jeremia and Lucia, Cannaregio district

The country’s participation is supported by Eximbank, part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.

“We are honored to support the first participation of the Republic of Moldova in the International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia. This project reflects our commitment to cultural initiatives that can bring communities together and create spaces for dialog. In today’s Europe, where interconnectedness and openness are particularly important, art helps to hear different voices and to take a fresh look at the present and the future,” said Marco Trevisan, CEO and Chairman of the Management Committee of EXIMBANK, Bank of Intesa Sanpaolo Group.
