According to the database of the Moldova Fruct Association, this is not a record supply of grapes for this spring month in the current decade. In April 2022 and 2023, external deliveries of this product were larger – about 1.4 and 1.8 thousand tons, respectively.
Nevertheless, against the background of the previous two years, April 2026 grape exports look more massive. But, at the same time, it is strange, as the quality of grapes harvested in the rainy period in 2026 did not favor long-term storage. Apparently, farmers kept this production “until the last” month of the marketing season in the hope for higher purchase prices.
Judging by the conversations in the corporate environment, they did not get the desired price. Although the produce, as long as it was shipped by sea to faraway Iraq, was still of good quality.
