A plane carrying money crashed in Bolivia.

At least 20 people were killed when a military plane carrying banknotes crashed in the Bolivian city of El Alto on Friday.

A plane crash in Bolivia

The plane was loaded with central bank money, The Guardian reported.

The C-130 Hercules reportedly rolled off the runway and crashed into cars traveling on a highway in the area.

Footage shown by local media showed people rushing to collect banknotes while police tried to disperse them by firing tear gas. Police officers, some of whom were holding shields, lined up in a line, and some people in the crowd threw stones at the officers.
