“The world market is looking for an alternative to the dollar, which it fears the most,” Latvian portal bb.lv quoted the president as saying, citing his interview with Le Monde newspaper.

In such a situation, according to the French leader, this market should be offered European debt. Macron is sure that in the situation of limited EU budget it is time to give a start to a common mechanism of borrowing for future expenses – Eurobonds of the future.

In other words, we need large European programs to finance the best projects. This, according to the French President, is an unprecedented chance to overcome the hegemony of the dollar.

Macron emphasized that it is time for the European Union to become a single power. Such a move would bring this organization out of its immature state. If it succeeds, then instead of 27 separate markets, there will be a single one covering the entire EU population.

“We united to stop wars, we united to create a market, but we have always forbidden ourselves to think of a joint power, because until 1945, power meant civil war between us,” the French president said.
