
They complain of poor living conditions and demand an increase in the hourly rate from 13 to 27 Romanian lei (from 51 to 106 Moldovan lei).
They resent the low wages, some claiming that they are lower than agreed. The workers claim that the current amount is not even enough to cover their basic expenses, given that they work in harsh conditions on construction sites, far from their families, in a foreign country, Argeșul Online reported.
This is the first such protest in Romania.
The employing company Erbașu said that its workers, regardless of nationality, are treated fairly and that work at the Nicolae Dobrin stadium in Pitesti is proceeding on schedule.
