On a flight Chisinau-Berlin, in the luggage of a passenger, a 49-year-old citizen of Ukraine, coins, presumably gold coins, the estimated value of which, according to the waybill, exceeds 3000 euros, were found.
Another case was recorded on the Istanbul-Chisinau route, where five yellow-colored objects, presumably gold, were found in the luggage of a 39-year-old Afghan citizen.
Also on the Chisinau-Lisbon route, three bars, presumably gold, were found in the luggage of a female passenger, a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen.
All three passengers chose the “green corridor” (“nothing to declare”) and, in addition, when questioned by customs officers, stated that they did not carry any declared goods.
The seized items will be subjected to expert examination to determine their exact composition.
The goods have been seized and, if found to be precious, are subject to confiscation and those involved risk being punished as an offense under the provisions of Article 43¹ and Article 287 paragraph (10) of the Contravention Code.
