State services will become more expensive

To this end, it is planned to amend Government Decision No. 966/2020 “On the services provided by the Public Services Agency”.

First of all, the price of fixed-term marriages and divorces will rise.

The current standard rate of 260 lei will be maintained for marriages, but for those who need urgent registration, the rates will increase. For example, registration for 15 working days will cost 1820 lei, for 5 working days – 5460 lei. To register a marriage on the day of application will cost 9100 lei.

At the same time, the tariffs for online application will be reduced by 10%, so online registration in 5 days will cost 4830 lei.

Divorce will become even more expensive. The new basic tariff when applying in the office will be 900 lei, which is more than four times more expensive than its current price of 210 lei. The standard term here is 25 working days from the moment of filing the petition. When applying online, divorce will cost 810 lei.

Besides matrimonial services, the issuance of the certificate of civil status will become more expensive. If until now people paid from 80 to 400 lei for the certificate, after the introduction of new tariffs the sum will vary from 160 to 800 lei.

According to the project, other services, such as issuance of extracts, including multilingual ones, from civil status acts, issuance of certificates of marital capacity, will also become more expensive. The tariffs for amending some documents necessary for inheritance cases and for obtaining citizenship by recognition will be changed.

Registration of births, deaths, establishment of paternity and some other basic services remain free of charge. Benefits for vulnerable categories of population are also preserved.
