Labor safety will be brought up to the European level

The Government has prepared a number of amendments to legislative acts in the field of occupational safety and health in order to transpose the relevant EU directives. These are government resolutions on the approval of minimum occupational safety and health requirements at the workplace, including when working at a computer monitor, as well as on monitoring and consulting with workers on their application.

It is prescribed that the monitor screen should be located so that light sources such as windows, transparent or translucent walls, lamps, etc., do not cause direct glare and annoying reflections on the screen. At the same time, windows should be equipped with a suitable adjustable covering system to attenuate daylight entering the workstation.

In addition, if the company has not provided a panel to warn people of hazardous chemicals or mixtures, an appropriate hazard pictogram should be used as provided for in the special rules for classification, labeling and packaging of chemicals and mixtures.

Separate provisions outline the process for consulting with employees on the application of these requirements. Employees, including those working remotely, participate on an equal basis. Or the employer consults them in advance on the application of measures that may affect occupational health and safety.

Data from the annual report of the State Labor Inspectorate shows that in 2024 there were 662 cases of labor safety violations in which 682 people were injured.
