The volume of industrial production, according to the NBS, for January-July 2025 (cumulative since the beginning of the current year), compared to the same period of the previous year, increased by 2.2%.
In July 2025, compared to July 2024, the growth rate was 6.2%, while the comparable monthly growth rate of the previous year was much higher – (July 2024 to July 2023 growth of 13.8%).
“The June and July figures have not yet compensated for the decline in industrial production in 2022-2024,” says economist Vladimir Golovatyuk. If we take into account the comparability of the compared periods (January-July 2024 – growth of 2.3%), the current figure is insignificant for the recovery of the production factor in the creation of GDP.
According to the NBS, the volume of industrial production, adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, in January-July 2025, compared to January-July 2024, increased by only 1.1%. The increase was due to the growth of production in mining (+8.4%), manufacturing (+0.8%) and in the production and distribution of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+18.5%).
