The NCMS Director Ion Dodon reported that a separate section for refugees has been created on the institution’s website, where information on medical services, the scope and cost of assistance provided by medical and pharmaceutical institutions is available. In addition, in partnership with IOM and WHO, the NCMS representatives trained 11 mediators from Ukraine in different regions of Moldova to inform refugees about their rights and obligations in the health care system. An information campaign was also organized to improve access to health services for Ukrainian refugees.
Ion Dodon said that within the project “Ensuring equal access of refugees with temporary protection to medical services in Moldova”, financed by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development, the provision of medical services for refugees will be continued until June 2026. He said that the funds cover the refugees’ access to almost the whole range of medical services on a par with the Moldovan citizens.
