Therefore, the agency is conducting a public consultation on this topic between now and May 16, 2025.
Ion Răuleț, head of the Industrial Development Policy and State Aid Management Department of the MEC, explained to LP that the need to elaborate such a regulation arose due to the forthcoming termination of the operation of the free enterprise zone “Tvardiţa”, located in the village of the same name in Taraclia district.
In September last year, the Parliament approved amendments to the Law No. 212 of 31.07.2024 (on support measures provided to residents of free economic zones), which came into force on August 15, 2024.
According to the aforementioned law, the existence of the Free Economic Zone “Tvardiţa” was extended only until December 28, 2025.
“However, the government was faced with the fact that the legislation does not prescribe a mechanism for terminating the activity of the FEZ. This is the reason why it became necessary to develop the above-mentioned Regulation,” Ion Răuleț said.
The document is planned to be elaborated and submitted to the Government for approval as soon as possible.
