The average invoice price for phosphates in January-March of the current year was relatively stable, but it slightly exceeded the annual average for 2024. Thus, in the first quarter of 2025, the median price reached the level of 11.54 lei/kg, i.e., it increased by 3.1% compared to its level for the whole 2024 (11.2 lei/kg).

As Agrocereale expert Iurie Rija notes in his study of the fertilizer market, in the period 2023-24, there was a steady increase in phosphate imports to RM (after a drop in the supply of this fertilizer in 2022).

So far, this trend has been correlated with the downward trend of phosphate prices on the world market. However, since the beginning of this year, the situation has started to change – prices have started to strengthen, which is likely to affect supply volumes in the near future.
