Energy crisis demanded interventions

According to a report by the Finance Ministry, 60 million lei were allocated to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. They were used to compensate for the difference in electricity supply prices. The remaining 0.5 million lei were provided to local authorities in the security zone (in the villages of Varnita, Firladeni, Cocieri, Molovata Noue, Dorotcaia). The funds were meant to ensure the continuous functioning of institutions and public services at risk of crisis situations. More specifically, the risk of interruption of electricity and natural gas supply.

The 60.5 million lei amounted to 0.6% of the state budget revenues for January-February 2025.

We shall remind you that the government’s intervention fund is meant to finance urgent expenses related to the liquidation of the consequences of natural disasters, as well as in case of epidemics, other man-made, natural and socio-biological emergencies.
