Children from the Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine arrived at the camp, as well as Ukrainian refugee children who have been in Moldova since the start of the war. Children who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova also participated in the program alongside them.

The camp was part of a support program for refugee children

Over the course of ten days, participants took part in educational, cultural, sports, and recreational activities. The program also gave Ukrainian children the opportunity to learn about Moldova, the Romanian language, and the country’s history and cultural heritage.

One of the camp’s objectives was to create opportunities for communication and interaction between children from Ukraine and Moldova, as well as to promote the social and educational integration of refugee children.

“These bonds of friendship forged over the past few days are the clearest proof that education and intercultural dialogue bring us closer together and help build a society based on respect and solidarity,” said Ivan Duminica, head of the Interethnic Relations Policy Service at the Ministry of Education and Research.

According to the organizers, the camp was part of efforts to support the educational and social integration of refugee children from Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova.
