
Finance Minister Victoria Belous held a meeting with representatives of the soft drink industry, the HoReCa sector, and the livestock industry.
Discussions focused on the new VAT rates proposed by the ministry and related measures to support HoReCa operations in rural areas and assist aspiring entrepreneurs.
The introduction of an excise tax on sugar-sweetened beverages was also discussed, as were measures necessary for the development of the livestock sector, including issues related to the VAT rate and improving production efficiency. In addition, participants discussed measures to improve compliance with tax laws.
As a reminder, according to the draft tax policy for 2027, there are plans to increase the income tax rate for smallholder farms from 7% to 12%. At the same time, it has been proposed to introduce a VAT rate for the HoReCa sector and a 20% VAT rate for sugar-containing non-alcoholic beverages.
Participants in the discussions reported on the challenges they face and put forward their proposals for improving competitiveness.
Consultations will continue in the near future. Suggestions and opinions from the business community will be analyzed as the draft is finalized.
