The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, in collaboration with UNICEF in Moldova, held a meeting of the Coordination Group on the Implementation of the European Pact for Children. The proposed measures included in the draft national action plan were presented to the participants for approval.
The European Guarantee for Children aims to ensure, first and foremost for children from vulnerable groups, access to quality education and healthcare, healthy nutrition, social protection, and adequate living conditions.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection notes that developing a mechanism to implement the European Pact for Children is a national priority and is provided for in the National Program for the Republic of Moldova’s Accession to the European Union for 2025–2029.
Once the document is approved, the responsible agencies will need to identify specific measures and actions for its implementation. The ministry emphasizes that fulfilling these commitments is also linked to Moldova’s accession process to the European Union.
