Gicu Răducan, Director of Polaris Aviation Group
According to Răducan, the founders of Polaris are himself and his colleagues Anatol Damaschin and Guram Gvedașvili, with whom he has worked on various aviation projects over the years. He emphasized that he was the one who initiated the creation of the company and convinced his partners to join this “adventure.”
“I can firmly assure you that we—my team and I—are the sole beneficiaries of this company,” Răducan stated on a private TV channel owned by the Realitatea Group, commenting on rumors about who is behind Polaris.
He also assured that the company will remain independent in the future.
“Polaris has absolutely no political ties. Absolutely none. It never had any. It doesn’t have any now. And it never will,” the company’s CEO emphasized.
Răducan noted that Polaris is not yet an airline. It is currently undergoing the certification process with the Civil Aviation Authority. According to him, it will only be able to begin operating as an air carrier after receiving all the necessary permits. However, Gicu Răducan did not specify a specific timeline for Polaris’s launch or the start of its flights.
Earlier, media reports had surfaced regarding the company’s possible ties to former Prime Minister Dorin Rechan. Rechan himself categorically denied these rumors.
Polaris Aviation Group was registered in February 2026. Its primary business activity is air cargo transportation. According to publicly available data, the founders’ ownership stakes are distributed as follows: Anatol Damaskin—50%, Jiku Radukan—25%, and Guram Gvedașvili — 25%. Jiku Redukan is the son of former minister and former Democratic Party lawmaker Marcel Răducan, who has stepped away from politics in recent years.
