The participation of foreign military personnel in the parade marking the Republic of Moldova’s Independence Day is linked to the strengthening of the country’s partnerships with other states. This was stated by Colonel Ion Rotaru, head of the Defense Policy and Planning Directorate at the Ministry of Defense.
“And, of course, we were counting on the strengthened partnerships we have established with various countries. They received invitations and confirmed their participation. On August 27, they will take part in the parade as part of an expanded contingent on the square of the Great National Assembly,” Rotaru said on public radio.
Rotaru noted that Moldova also receives invitations from partner countries to participate in various events abroad.
“Therefore, this serves to reinforce the message—both in terms of our participation there and their participation here,” the Ministry of Defense spokesperson noted.
As a reminder, more than 2,000 military personnel and law enforcement officers, as well as veterans and contingents from partner countries, will take part in the August 27 parade in downtown Chisinau, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Moldova’s independence. The parade will also feature more than 100 pieces of military and specialized equipment.
