This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugeniu Osmochescu during a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora.
“For a long time, one of the challenges for citizens both within the country and abroad has been the identification of individuals and legal entities. I am referring first and foremost to you—the representatives of the diaspora. We recently discussed this issue with our colleagues from the e-Government Agency. The most important initiative, which has already been launched and is currently being implemented, will begin testing in October, and its full implementation is scheduled for 2027. We are talking about remote identification of citizens,” Osmochescu stated.
The minister noted that the mechanism will include the use of electronic signatures, as well as the recognition of electronic signatures issued by member states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). This will be the first component of the new system.
The mechanism is designed to simplify interactions between citizens and companies located outside the Republic of Moldova and the country’s government agencies by reducing administrative barriers and enabling them to access necessary services remotely.
