
The program provides for a set of measures aimed at developing and modernizing the sector, including the inventory, mapping, and assessment of water bodies, as well as the rehabilitation of fish farming ponds and related hydraulic structures.
At the same time, the document includes measures to modernize fish farms, genetically improve breeding stock, and expand production capacity for high-quality fish stock.
To improve the efficiency of production and processing enterprises, the PSSA provides for the modernization and enhancement of their ability to adapt to climatic conditions, as well as the development of farmers’ professional skills in this area.
Participants endorsed the Strategic Program for Aquaculture Development and the Action Plan for 2026–2028 and were given the opportunity to formulate proposals and recommendations that will be considered for inclusion in the next Action Plan for 2029–2030, ensuring the continuity of the Strategic Program for Aquaculture Development’s objectives.
The development of the Strategic Program for the Development of the Aquaculture Sector aims to establish a foundation for the sector’s sustainable development, stimulate investment, and enhance the competitiveness of producers and processors of fish and aquaculture products in Moldova.
