The company forecasts third-quarter revenue in the range of $3.07–3.12 billion. According to the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), the average analyst estimate is $2.97 billion, Reuters reports.

eBay also posted strong results in the second quarter. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 came in at $3.13 billion, compared with analysts’ expectations of $3.02 billion. Gross merchandise volume (GMV), which reflects the total value of goods sold through the platform, rose 15% to $22.4 billion.

eBay is focusing on so-called priority categories, where shoppers value a wide selection and specialized services. These include trading cards and other collectibles, auto parts and accessories, and refurbished electronics. The company is also expanding its offering of authenticated luxury goods, hoping to attract more high-spending shoppers.

The strategy aims to strengthen eBay’s position in niches where specialized services and buyer trust are just as important as price. This allows the platform to compete for higher-priced purchases and enhance the appeal of its offerings.

Against this backdrop, eBay remains a target of interest for GameStop. In May, the company rejected a $56 billion acquisition offer, calling it unconvincing and unattractive. Following the rejection, GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen stated that he intends to continue pursuing a merger between the companies.
