This was announced by Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban. He specified that the wells connected to the water supply networks are located in the districts of Balishovsk, Petrican, Ghidighici, and Ialoven. They will help ensure uninterrupted water supply services for consumers in the event of a potential crisis.
The Chisinau City Hall notes that this work will continue. Also, according to Mayor Ion Ceban, the “Chisinau” mine continues to operate in the capital, from which a large volume of process water is pumped out daily. It is used for washing streets and sidewalks, as well as for other municipal needs.
Daily water pumping is necessary to prevent the rise of the groundwater level in the mine and to avoid the risk of flooding, which has been observed in previous years; the municipal authorities have allocated significant investments to address this issue.
As Logos Press previously reported, the capital’s authorities have prepared 213 locations for the placement of water tanks and the distribution of water in public places, kindergartens, medical facilities, and other strategically important sites. If necessary, water distribution to the population will be organized.
At the same time, the government has provided the capital’s municipality with five motor pumps to boost the capacity of the water intake station in Vadul-lui-Vodă.
