In a post on the Interreg Danube website, a student from the capital shares his experiences as a tourist in Chisinau as part of the “People Powered Tourism” project.

In addition to the city’s well-known landmarks—the Central Cathedral, the park, and the monument to Ștefan cel Mare—he shows how the quiet streets of Chișinău’s historic center foster an atmosphere of local creativity and traditions.

The article features the pottery of the Grimovich family’s workshop, the preparation of traditional desserts by pastry chef Mariana Zabrian at the “Baba Neagra” café, stories from city historian Ion Stefanita, as well as the hospitality of local restaurateurs.

The Chisinau City Hall, represented by the General Directorate for Economy, Trade, and Tourism, is participating as a partner in the “People Powered Tourism” project. In total, 14 partners from 10 countries in the Danube region are involved in this project. The program is being implemented with the aim of expanding opportunities for local communities to participate in tourism development.

The project’s goal is to strengthen the capital’s tourism potential and its contribution to the local economy. The Chisinau City Hall is participating in four projects under the Interreg Danube Region program, which is funded by the European Union.
