Triumph of Moldovan para-armwrestlers at the World Cup in Bulgaria

Nine Moldovan athletes won 11 medals at the World Para-Armwrestling Championship held in Albena, Bulgaria, Logos Press reported.

Yaroslav Bukil and Vladimir Butucha, pair armwrestlers, climbed to the top of the podium in their weight categories. Victor Lungu and Maxim Pogor twice won silver medals, Nicolae Cicaliuc also climbed to the second step of the podium. Four Moldovan athletes won bronze medals – Vadim Cornicel, Vadim Pogor, Gheorghe Spinu and Ion Cernei.

The Moldovan national team takes the seventh place in the team medal standings. As the President of the Armwrestling Federation of Moldova Alexandru Grumeza emphasized, the performances of our athletes confirm the high level of preparation and the ability to compete with the strongest rivals at the international level.

The World Championship in Bulgaria is held under the auspices of the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF). More than 800 athletes from 60 countries take part in it.
