An official reported that over the past two days, authorities have reviewed more than 1,000 test papers—representing 15% of the total number of tests—to assess the difficulty level of the questions that have drawn criticism from students, parents, and teachers.

According to data compiled by the Ministry of Education and Research in collaboration with the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment, the results show that the completion rate for these tasks is comparable to or even higher than the rates for the 2022–2025 exam sessions.

The ministry emphasized that the grading scale (barem) was specifically designed to benefit students: points are awarded not only for the final answer but also for each correct step in the solution, mathematical reasoning, and the use of correct methods.

“Naturally, after the exam, you may feel that you didn’t do as well as you expected. However, the data proves otherwise. You did well, including on these problems. It is important to understand that the difficulty of a problem is determined not only by its wording but also by the grading criteria. In recent years, the criteria have been designed to help students. We award points not only for the correct answer but also for the entire process of arriving at it. Accordingly, most of you will receive points for these tasks, even if you did not arrive at the correct answer,” the minister assured.

Earlier, hundreds of students, parents, and teachers signed an online petition expressing dissatisfaction with the test’s high level of difficulty, claiming that the exercises were at a university level.

“Wait for the final results, and I am confident you will see that the grade you receive will reflect the efforts you have put in over the past few years in preparing for this exam,” Perchun concluded.
