
According to the amendments, the maximum amount of assets for micro entities was increased from 5.6 million to 8.5 million lei, and the income from sales – from 11.2 million to 17 million lei. At the same time, the criterion for the number of employees remained unchanged – up to 10 people.
For small entities, the limit of assets was raised from 63.6 million to 95 million lei, while the income from sales – from 127.2 million to 190 million lei. The number of employees also remains at the level of up to 50 people.
Medium-sized enterprises will now be able to have assets of up to 480 million lei instead of the previous 318 million lei, and income from sales – up to 960 million lei instead of 636 million lei. The criterion for the number of employees remains the same – up to 250 people.
Similar changes were made to the criteria for large entities.
The indicators for groups of companies have also been revised. For small groups, the limit of assets was increased from 80.3 million to 115 million lei, while the income from sales – from 160.6 million to 230 million lei. For medium and large groups, the threshold of assets was raised from 401.5 million to 575 million lei, while the income from sales – from 803.1 million to 1.15 billion lei.
The legislative initiative was elaborated by the Finance Ministry and is aimed at harmonizing the national legislation with the European Union legislation in this field. According to the authors, after the revision of the classification criteria, the number of enterprises that will be able to draw up simplified or reduced financial statements will increase. Thus, another 209 entities will be able to prepare simplified financial statements, and another 1,128 – reduced reporting. At the same time, 46 fewer entities will be obliged to prepare a full set of financial statements.
According to statistical data, there are currently 68,725 registered entities in our country, of which 31,632 are micro, 6,152 are small, 791 are medium and 150 are large enterprises.
