The ANCD will help researchers prepare for ERC grants

The ERC Visiting Fellowship Programme provides funding for research visits of up to one month to teams of European researchers who have received ERC grants. Up to 100,000 lei can be obtained per project under the ‘Bonus European’ call for 2026–2027.

The second initiative – the ERC Mentoring Initiative – will enable Moldovan researchers to work with experienced scientists who have received ERC grants, as well as with former members of the Council’s evaluation panels. The mentoring will last six months and will include at least two individual online sessions. The total duration of these consultations will not exceed 10 hours. Mentors will not be remunerated for their participation.

Both initiatives are open to researchers from various scientific fields. Selection will be based primarily on the scientific quality of the work and the candidates’ potential to secure an ERC grant.

ERC grants are among the most prestigious funding instruments for scientific research under the EU’s ‘Horizon Europe’ programme. The ANCD’s new initiatives are designed to help Moldovan scientists improve the quality of their applications and increase their participation in European calls for proposals.
