“All transactions prohibited by the decision of November 21, 2022 <…> concerning the maritime transport of crude oil originating from the Sakhalin-2 project are authorized until 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on December 18, 2026, provided that the Sakhalin-2 byproduct is intended solely for import into Japan,” the publication quotes the U.S. Treasury Department document as saying.
The U.S. had previously extended this license in December of last year until June 18, 2026.
