Moldova in Brussels discusses European povetska

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gerasimov is on a visit to Brussels to discuss with European officials the course of the negotiation process and the European agenda in general.

During a meeting on 27 April with European Court of Auditors member Laima Lucie Andriceni, the deputy prime minister highlighted the constant support provided by the European Union to Moldova, especially during the crisis.

“She emphasized how important this support is for the comprehensive reforms in such fields as justice, environment protection and agriculture,” Cristina Gerasimov said.

She thanked the European officials for their openness, receptiveness and for their constant support on Moldova’s path towards the EU: “Together, we can bring about changes in the country and improve people’s lives.

In the same vein, Cristina Gerasimov had a meeting with the director of the World Justice Project (WJP), Srirak Plipat.

The discussion focused on the reforms carried out in Moldova to strengthen the rule of law, fight corruption, ensure open governance, guarantee fundamental rights and citizens’ access to justice.

The meeting also discussed the importance of WJP indicators to identify areas of progress as well as those where reforms need to be accelerated.
