The General Assembly is a strategic platform for dialogue aimed at assessing ongoing regional initiatives, highlighting results and identifying priorities in agriculture and rural development. In addition to setting directions for 2026, the meeting’s agenda also includes preparations for major events on the regional calendar: Agricultural Policy Forum 2026 and the 20th Annual Southeastern Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting, MAIA’s Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-Food noted.

Opening the meeting, Agriculture and Food Minister Ludmila Catlabuga emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in the context of Moldova’s European path:

“Since 2023, the Republic of Moldova has moved from the status of observer to full member of the Agricultural Development Group, strengthening its position as an active partner. Thus, we continue our efforts to modernize agriculture, aiming at transforming this sector into a highly efficient, sustainable one, in line with the European Union’s requirements,” the MAIA head said.
