These commissions received instructions from the authorized state structures to carry out the relevant survey with regard to orchards and sugar beet plantations. But they have not received similar instructions for the main winter crops. This is stated by the Forța Fermierilor Association in a media statement.
Meanwhile, Forța Fermierilor believes that for winter crops, the government has developed too few tools to ensure sustainability and minimize disaster risks. “The snowless winter, frosts and spring drought, combined with this year’s very likely summer drought, will destroy all micro, small and medium-sized farms in the agricultural sector of the RM economy if the government does not decide on effective measures to save them,” the association said in its message.
Forța Fermierilor reiterated its proposal to the Moldovan authorities to declare a state of emergency in agriculture.
