
In the first case, customs officials in Leușen conducted a special inspection of a bus traveling from the Czech Republic, which had several passengers on board. The passengers’ luggage was subjected to a non-invasive inspection, and an air gun and 10 gas canisters, which had not been declared during customs inspection, were found in one of the suitcases. The items belonged to a 23-year-old Moldovan citizen.
The second incident was recorded at the Skulen customs checkpoint upon departure from the country, after another Moldovan national concealed items subject to special transport regulations in his luggage. Specifically, in the luggage of a man traveling in a minibus on the Chisinau–Iasi route, customs officers discovered a 9-mm pistol and 22 canisters of gas that had not been declared to customs authorities. The cargo belonged to a 26-year-old Moldovan citizen.
The weapon and related ammunition were seized and are subject to confiscation, and the individuals involved risk facing penalties in accordance with the provisions of Article 43¹ and Paragraph (10) of Article 287 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
