An investment tender has been announced for the privatization of the Chisinau Glass Factory

The State Property Agency has announced the launch of an investment tender for the privatization of the state-owned enterprise “Chisinau Glass Factory” as a single property complex.

The plant has an active production profile, existing infrastructure, and the potential for consolidation in the region. The future investor will be required to expand the plant’s capacity, modernize its processes, and make significant investments.

The starting bid price is 773 million lei. The future investor will be required to invest a minimum of 20.5 million euros (415 million lei) over a period of 3 years, in accordance with the terms of the tender.

The tender will be conducted in two stages. The submitted documents and bids will be analyzed, and the winner will be the participant who offered the highest price and assumed the most favorable obligations in accordance with the tender terms.

The goal of this tender is to strengthen the industrial potential of the Republic of Moldova and position the state-owned enterprise “Chisinau Glass Factory” as a competitive manufacturer in the region.

According to data from open sources, the Chisinau Glass Factory recorded sales revenue of 442.5 million lei and gross profit of 10 million lei in 2024. At that time, the company employed 350 people and had a registered capital of over 403.5 million lei.

Compared to 2023, the company’s revenue and profit declined, but the plant maintained a positive balance and fully met its obligations to the state budget. Net assets reached 480.3 million lei, and the enterprise transferred over 6 million lei to the budget.

The state-owned enterprise “Chisinau Glass Factory” was founded in 1970 and is the largest enterprise in the glass industry in Moldova. The plant covers an area of 14.4 hectares, with main production facilities spanning 24,000 m², auxiliary facilities covering 10,800 m², and warehouse space totaling 13,200 m².

The company sells its products both domestically and internationally. The Chisinau Glass Factory meets the needs of distilleries, soft drinks that use glass bottles for bottling their products, as well as canning plants for processing vegetables and fruits, producing baby food, ketchups, and other products.
