Construction has already begun in Algeria, while Niger is expected to start work on its section in 2027, marking progress on one of the largest energy projects on the Black Continent.
It is noted that the pipeline will be able to supply Europe with up to 30 billion m3 of natural gas per year. The pipeline will run from the city of Warri in southern Nigeria, crossing the Niger to reach the Hassi-Messaoud gas hub in Algeria, from where the gas will flow to Mediterranean export terminals and pipelines that serve European markets.
There is no word on whether the African gas will reach Greece so that it can be diverted to the Vertical Corridor channels through which Moldova could receive it.
