Maya Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, commented on the draft of a new law on a unified pay system for the public sector, noting that it provides for adjustments to the official salaries of high-ranking officials: the president, the speaker of parliament, and the prime minister.
President Maia Sandu has distanced herself from the scandal surrounding the state-owned enterprise MoldATSA. The head of state stated that she bears no responsibility for the fact that her relative received “money she did not deserve” from this company. At the same time, Sandu announced that, following this incident, large-scale audits will be conducted at all of the country’s more than 70 state-owned enterprises.
The Audit Chamber can achieve full financial independence only by establishing competitive and fair salaries for state external auditors. The draft law on the compensation system creates an increased risk of a brain drain of qualified personnel. This opinion was expressed by Tatiana Șevciuc, Chair of the Accounting Chamber (AC).

All European driver’s licenses will become valid in the Republic of Moldova thanks to the implementation of the principle of mutual recognition and the automatic equivalence of license categories. This important change is provided for in a draft government resolution developed by the Agency for Public Services and promoted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of preparations for the country’s integration into the European Union. The new rules will make life much easier for drivers: the process of recognizing documents will be automatic, without the need to take additional exams or go through unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles.
