New teachers under the age of 35 who hold a vocational and technical education diploma in pedagogy, or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or in other fields related to school subjects, are eligible for this placement program.

Graduates with educational credentials issued by foreign educational institutions are also eligible to participate, provided that these credentials are recognized and deemed equivalent in accordance with the law.

A list of vacancies by subject and institution, the application form, and a standard declaration confirming the status of a young specialist (new graduate) are available on the Ministry’s platforms. The competition will take place from July 1 to July 15, 2026; preliminary results will be announced on July 20, and the assignment order will be published on July 24, 2026.

Grant of up to 375,000 lei

Young professionals assigned through the competition will receive a one-time grant of up to 375,000 lei, which will be paid in installments over the first 5 years of employment: 50% of the amount after 6 months of actual work and the remaining 50% after 18 months. The amount of the grant depends on the level of education and place of employment. Thus, graduates of vocational and technical programs, bachelor’s or master’s degree programs who have found employment in rural areas in fields with a shortage of specialists will receive 375,000 lei, while their colleagues in cities (the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti) in the same shortage fields will receive 300,000 lei. For positions that are not in high demand, graduates of vocational and technical institutions are entitled to 235,000 lei in rural areas and 160,000 lei in cities, while university graduates will receive 275,000 lei in rural areas and 200,000 lei in cities.

This year, teaching positions in high-demand subjects include biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, as well as Romanian language and literature in schools where instruction is conducted in Russian.

In addition to financial support, young teachers will have their teaching load reduced to 75% during their first five years of employment, annual compensation of 4,000 lei for the purchase of teaching materials, annual leave of up to 62 calendar days, mentorship, and opportunities for career advancement.
