As the portal Delo.ua writes, this is reported by the Ukrainian platform VKURSI.
Absolute dominance of FLPs and confidence in the “simplified” system
The absolute majority of registrations were provided by physical persons-entrepreneurs, who account for 99% of all newly created objects. In particular, 4966 FLPs and only 41 legal entities started their own business. Last year at this time, 4,336 FLPs and 17 legal entities earned money.
Analysts of the VKURSI platform note that such statistics indicates not only a low threshold of entry into the industry, but also the preservation of high confidence of small businesses in the simplified taxation system.
“It is the FLP format that remains the main organizational model for entrepreneurs in the service sector, while the transition to a more complex corporate form of business remains limited, and legal entities remain significantly less popular in this market,” the report says.
Spring surge: from February decline to April peak
The beginning of the year was marked by moderate stability, after which the market experienced fluctuations. In January, the industry recorded 836 new businesses. However, a decline was recorded in February: then the number of new FLPs fell from 833 to 737, i.e. by 11.5% compared to January.
However, with the onset of spring activity has increased significantly. Already in March there were 1157 new companies, and in May – 1092. The absolute peak of registrations was in April, when 1173 business entities opened their own business.
Beauty salons and related niches
Most actively entrepreneurs opened businesses in the sphere of hairdressing services and beauty salons. Since the beginning of 2026, 4859 new businesses in the field of beauty and care appeared in Ukraine. These are beauty salons, hairdressing salons, SPA-salons and massage parlors, among which 4829 FLPs and 30 legal entities.
“Despite the difficult situation in the country, the demand for self-care services, recovery and emotional reset continues to grow steadily,” say VKURSI analysts.
In parallel, they recorded moderate growth in other niches of this sector. In particular, for the first five months of the year in Ukraine registered 80 new FLP and 3 companies in the organization of burials and related services, as well as 57 new FLP and 8 companies in the laundry and dry cleaning of textiles and furs.
