The event was attended by about 80 current and potential agricultural producers, including members of water users associations for irrigation purposes. The process of field research (soil sampling for laboratory analysis) was demonstrated to the participants of the workshop. The work was carried out in accordance with the Methodology of pedological research approved by Government Resolution No. 751/2025.

The data obtained at the monitoring sites will help to assess the changes occurring in the soil, develop forecasts regarding the evolution of soil quality and establish trends of its degradation or improvement. The information collected can also be used to inform authorities about problems affecting soil resources and to justify timely interventions.

According to the Methodology for the organization of soil quality monitoring in the Republic of Moldova, during 10 years the research will be conducted at the national level by placing representative soil profiles at 136 sites of the monitoring network with the size of 16 km x 16 km.
