This is part of the amendments that the Ministry of Labor and Social Security proposes to make to six government resolutions in the field of health and safety at work. The draft has been submitted for public consultation, which will end on May 26.
The purpose of the proposed amendments is to bring the provisions of the national legislation in line with the European directives in the field of labor and to ensure uniform application of the requirements.
Safety requirements for heavy work
The amendments mainly concern safety requirements for heavy work. In particular, manual handling of loads, as well as working conditions in the extractive industry, in explosive atmospheres, on temporary and mobile construction sites. For these conditions, the employer will be obliged to ensure that workplaces are illuminated by artificial light if daylight is insufficient.
Part of the amendments relate to working at a monitor, as well as health and safety alerts. Thus, new requirements for training and informing workers will be established.
In order to fulfill these obligations, as well as the standards related to the Minimum General Requirements applicable to the extractive industry and to auxiliary surface installations, the manager of the enterprise will be obliged to undergo training in the field of occupational health and safety.
It is proposed to include in the regulations a ban on smoking and storage of tobacco, any other items that contribute to fire, in areas with increased fire or explosion hazards. As well as ensuring sufficient thermal insulation at workplaces, taking into account the type of enterprise and the physical workload of employees.
Once approved, the changes will come into force six months after the date of their publication.
