The organizers expect more than 20 thousand investors, developers and representatives of global technology companies to participate in the event.

The forum takes place from May 11 to 14 and became the first North American version of Web Summit after the brand’s large-scale expansion beyond Europe. Organizers say the event is attended by thousands of startups, hundreds of investors and representatives of the world’s largest technology companies.

The discussions center on the opportunities and risks of the AI economy

The main theme of Web Summit Vancouver 2026 is artificial intelligence and its impact on business, media, finance and digital infrastructure. Separate panels are dedicated to digital security, AI infrastructure, the use of AI in entrepreneurship, Generative AI, data center development, investments, etc.

According to the organizers, more than 750 startups and about 600 investors are represented on the platform. The program is attended by executives of technology companies, venture funds and AI developers.

Web Summit CEO Paddy Cosgrave said artificial intelligence is becoming “the major technology platform of the new economic cycle.” According to him, the market is moving from experimental use of AI to mass corporate integration of technologies.

Vancouver strengthens its position as a technology hub

The forum is seen by B.C. authorities as part of a strategy to strengthen Vancouver’s status as a North American technology hub.

Organizers estimate that the event is expected to bring tens of millions of dollars to the regional economy through tourism, hospitality, transportation and business activity.

The forum pays special attention to the competition between the global technology ecosystems of the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia in the field of AI infrastructure and the development of large language models.

For investors and technology companies, this means increased competition for AI resources, computing power and skilled professionals.
